December 2022 - Processing, Barcode Scanners, Webcam and love
For the programming lesson, we had to prepare a live show using code and interactivity with a device. The final goal of this project is to be able to perform live on a scene during a concert and offer live visuals to play along musical artists. (More infos down below if you are interested in coming to see us playing live)
With a class friend (Big up to Basile), we decided to work together and use barcode scanners to control visuals in real-time. We achieved this by coding in processing and using the codes to send commands to our code.
The point of using scanners was to offer a live performance that allows us to make the real world interact with our computer. We use videos that we modify directly through the code and make it seem they have relief in a 3D space canvas.
Furthermore, we can interact and navigate through this 3D canvas to show image or waves of light for exemple.
Little technical video in my bedroom to demo how it works, I didn't use the webcam in this exemple but it is doable.
