CARNAVAL SAUVAGE
Photos of a disguise I created for my photography lessons in first year.
I had to create a costume which represents traditions, rituals and community feelings. I chose to do something related to the forest since i come from a very green place in Belgium which is surrounded by forests and fields. Furthermore, my family is really to the forest since my grand father and uncle were lumberjacks for example.
This costume celebrates the forest and the arrival of spring. I used all kind of materials i found in my house such as wood, some basketries my mom made, leafs and deer antlers. I wanted it to look spiritual, savage and really natural. It needed to speak for itself and tell his story.
The photos were shot in the school studio as an exercise to shoot portraits and work on the lighting.
Material
Nikon D5600 with a Nikon 18-300 lens.
My selfmade costume, with stuff found at home.
